Community Guidelines

TaraChat is built to be a welcoming, respectful space. These guidelines explain what we expect from every member — and what happens when they're broken.

These guidelines summarize the Acceptable Use and Moderation sections of our Terms of Use, shown when you create your account. They apply everywhere on TaraChat — in rooms, direct messages, profiles, and voice chat.

Be Respectful

Treat every member the way you'd want to be treated. This means no:

  • Bullying, harassment, threats, or targeted intimidation
  • Stalking or repeatedly contacting someone who's asked you to stop
  • Hateful or discriminatory language directed at anyone

No Prohibited Content

Don't post, share, or link to content that is unlawful, obscene, or otherwise inappropriate for a general community — including material that promotes illegal activity.

Respect Ownership & Identity

Don't use someone else's intellectual property without authorization, and don't impersonate other users, staff, moderators, or hosts.

Don't Disrupt the Community

No flooding, spamming, unsolicited commercial content, or exploiting bugs to gain an unfair advantage or interfere with the platform.

Play Fair

Don't bypass bans, mutes, or security measures — and never introduce malware or attempt to exploit TaraChat's systems.

How We Enforce This

What happens when a rule is broken

1Report reviewed — a moderator or admin looks at what was reported.
2Warning — for first-time or minor issues, you'll get a direct notice explaining what to change.
3Temporary restriction — a mute, or a kick/ban from a specific room, for repeated or more serious violations.
4Account action — suspension or a permanent, server-wide ban for severe or repeated violations.

TaraChat may take immediate action without warning when there's a significant risk to the community, and may report certain conduct to the relevant authorities where legally required.

See something wrong? Report it.

Right-click a member's name to Report User, or use Report Issue in a room or DM window for anything else. Every report is reviewed, and you'll be notified of the outcome.
